One of our favorite times of the year is celebrating Christmas as a big family. Our goal in Stop for the One is for every child to grow up knowing they are no longer orphans, but instead a child of the most loving, Father. Christmas is a time where our kids can experience the love of the Father and His goodness, in some of the most tangible ways. Part of your sponsorship funds are used to help celebrate the birth of Jesus, through meals, stories, gift, games, and carols.
Each base is unique, like most families among the world, and they all have their own individual traditions in how they celebrate. However, each child gets to share in an extravagant meal usually consisting of salad, rice, chicken, and a cold soda; a real treat! They also get to hear the story of Jesus' birth, as well as receive their own personal gift. Gifts range from Bibles to soccer balls to barbies. The light in our kids' eyes as they open their gifts on Christmas Day is absolutely priceless. Many sang Christmas carols and got dressed up for the special occasion. There is so much joy and laughter.
