Meet our Iris Matola Rio Base Director, Corrie, and the amazing children at the Matola Rio Center! God is moving and transforming lives! We are so thankful to be able to pour into the children spiritually, physically, and mentally. The sponsorships provide provision for school, meals, an atmosphere of family, and the love of Jesus.
God is doing big things in Matola Rio! Our base has just started its very own Milk Program! We have been so blessed to help support children through the Stop for the One program and we are excited now become a Milk Program base. We have accepted our first three little babies!
Recently one of our children had fallen seriously ill but she is now on the way to recovery. She was hospitalized with a brain infection for several weeks. There were many serious side effects of this infection and she had to learn to walk and talk again. However, by the grace of God she is now walking around and even singing! Please continue to pray for our sweet little one, that she may receive a full and swift recovery!
As our base grows, we have been prompted to grow in many different ways. We ask that you join us in prayer for a new vocational training center. In December, we will be partnering with the Dutch organization, Stop Poverty, to make final decisions about the center. The vocational training center will be used for our older kids but also will be a blessing for many other people in our community.
Thanks to some amazingly generous people, our Base Director, Corrie, was able to take a much needed break to recharge in Holland and Switzerland!
Last but not least, we are happy to announce that we are launching our own website! Staying up to date on all of the things that are happening in Matola Rio can be tricky so this page will be a great resource to stay current with our children, our vision for the base, and current and future projects!
Thank you so much to all of our amazing Matola Rio Children’s Center sponsors. We are so grateful for your faithful and generous support as we care for children in need. We pray the Lord would bless you and your families!
