Meet Nazarene! Nazarene is 14 years old. Both of her parents died of AIDS shortly after she was born. Her grandmother took her in and is raising her, but is elderly and unable to work. Nazarene is healthy and strong, but village life for her has been very challenging. Before entering the Iris Village Program she would sometimes go without food and remembers times when she was forced to beg. She heard about Jesus at an Iris Outreach program in her village and accepted Jesus as her Savior! She joined the local church and was selected to become a part of one of the Iris Village Programs.
Meet Daniel!
Daniel lives in the small village of Cariaco and went to primary school there for grades 1-7. His father wanted him to go to a commercial trade school to study to become an accountant but that wasn’t what Daniel wanted. He started the Iris school in 2012 and loves having additional English language training that cannot be found elsewhere. Daniel hopes to be able to continue his education and become a doctor!
Heritiana’s Story
Heritiana was one of the first four boys to come and live at Iris Madagascar in July 2010. This year at age 18, after a one month trial he was selected to play for one of the best football teams in the country and is now a full time football player. It is amazing to see him realize his dream. Seeing him literally move from a street kid to a professional football player has been astonishing and a dream come true for all of us, especially him. We are so proud of him and all that he has a achieved.
